The EDI standard data TRADACOMS was developed by the former ANA
(Article Number Association), one of the founder organizations of today's
British GS1 organization. TRADACOMS were designed for the use on
the British domestic market, and although it covers a similar range as the
UN/EDIFACT standard data published by the United Nations, they use different
structures. The standard comprises 26 message types covering commercial
transactions.
Today TRADACOMS message are still widely spread in the United Kingdom,
especially in the consumer goods and food industries.
