ISO 20022 becomes mandatory for financial transaction data
By the end of 2025, it will be more or less mandatory for all participants to use the ISO 20022 standard for the exchange of financial transaction data. Wer seine Zahlungsdaten noch nicht migriert hat, muss bis dahin aktiv werden, damit seine Zahlungsinformationen weiterhin über das SWIFT-Netz übermittelt werden können. Over the following four years, there will be other important deadlines, as was the case in recent years when the Europe-wide payment systems TARGET2, EURO1 and STEP1 had to be converted to ISO 20022.
Focus on the documentation of ISO 20022 content
Are you well prepared? And if so, is your ISO 20022 implementation documented sufficiently to allow for easy updates during version upgrades? Or are you planning to document exceptions and extensions to ISO 20022 in a separate specification as part of the migration?
The ISO 20022 Standard Distribution of GEFEG.FX software provides the basis for projects in the financial sector to adapt, document, publish, implement and validate financial messages. In GEFEG.FX, alongside the current ISO 20022 UML models, you also have access to earlier versions of the ISO 20022 UML models. Furthermore, customised XML schemas and external codes for the elements facilitate understanding and planning of your implementation. Obviously, an ISO 20022 data update service is also included.
